Ole! Ole! Villa moved a step closer to the FA Cup finals by beating Crystal Palace 3-1 in the return match at Villa Park. The first leg match ended in a 2-2 draw. The scorers were Gabby Agbonlahor and John Carew. Big John stabbed in 2 penalties in the last 9 minutes to seal the match. Their next opponent in waiting is Reading.
Villa fans are anticipating the biggest match of the season this weekend, when Villa meets Man Utd in the League Cup finals at Wembley Stadium. Just wait and see if they are able to match the Red Devils.

Entered the contest via access from The Star online, and won one of the 100 consolation prize on offered. The criteria was to answer questions correctly and put up a slogan. They were known as Thirst Breaker Tumbler from Tupperware brand, and they cost RM70. They came in a set of 2 normal and 2 with drinking spout type tumbler. Ole! Ole!

Won! Shell Win RM100,000 Cash Weekly
Got lucky on Week 3 of the contest, as I was one of the RM100 winners. After waiting for 1.5 months, the prize finally arrived just before CNY. At least the organizer knows that it is not good to carry forward last year's debt.
The contest is very simple, but only if you pump petrol at Shell station and take notice of the contest. All you need to do is to pump RM30 and above, and answer one of the easiest contest question in the world. Then, staple the form with the receipt, and put into the contest box.
The organizer gave me a call and posted me another easy question. Besides the RM100, they also gave me 100 Bonuslink points. BTW, the answer is A (for the question in the form) and True (for the question on the phone).

What's Up For Villa This Weekend
Villa will be playing at home ground this weekend against Burnley, and they should have no problem getting the 3 points. With full points, they can potentially leap to P5 if both Liverpool and Spurs falter.
Just wait and see, and Villa would not disappoint us, and give a hard chase on the front liners.

I Saw A Mosquito Drinking White Coffee
I captured these photos 2 months ago. The mosquito landed on the spoon and sucked the leftover coffee. It also tried tasting the coffee on the serviette. The whole episode lasted for 20 minutes.
Not a good sign, as I will have disturbance during my coffee time, and drinking coffee is supposed to be relaxing.

Happy CNY Tiger Year 2010 : Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo!
This is the Chinese New Year week, where rest & dine overtake work & stress. We have another 9 days before the ang pow giving, lion dance and fireworks take a break, and return in 2011.
For this year's 14 Feb, it was a triple celebration; Chinese New Year of Tiger, Valentines Day and my baby's 1.5 months birthday. I had the privilege of experiencing Sarikei-styled Tuin-Nin Fan (reunion dinner) and CNY First day meal. For Foochow people, eating Mee Suah with Chicken Soup and Mushroom, plus teaspoon full of Red Rice Wine on the first morning of CNY is a must to symbolize long life (Cheong Mehng Pak Soui). I walloped 2 bowls and this means double long life. (added)
Hope it's still not too late to wish everyone dan mereka yang berada di kawasan yang sewaktu dengannya, GONG HEI FATT CHOY & FATT TATT!!

Today's 1Joke : 17 Dec 2009
This news is easy to read, but difficult to understand. Our PM, Mr N asked our footballers to play with 1Malaysia spirit. I tried hard to interpret but still do not understand how this can be achieved. It is easier to understand if he wants the players to play with "Malaysia Boleh" spirit. What message is he trying to convey?

Need to wait for the next edition of Kamus Dewan to learn the meaning of the word of the year; 1Malaysia. Apa tu??

Best Designed LRT Stations
LRT has been an important transportation mode for me during my Uni days when I was an active travel walker. Both the STAR and PUTRA lines were equally important to me. The STAR line brought me to Bukit Jalil, where the Commonwealth and SEA Games were held in 1998 and 2001 respectively. While PUTRA line transported me to the city centre and sometimes connected me to the other lines, such as STAR line at Masjid Jamek or KTM Komuter at KL Sentral. I can proudly declare that I have been to almost all the LRT stations on the PUTRA line and most of the stations on the STAR line. This mean, at least getting out of the LRT and stepped on the platform.

Based on my observation, I would nominate the best designed stations to PWTC and Bukit Jalil stations of the STAR line. Both of them are elevated stations, and come with aesthetic design yet functional elements.
1) PWTC Station

2) Bukit Jalil Station
Bukit Jalil station plays a very important role in ferrying sports enthusiasts and fanatics to the different sports venue, namely the National Stadium, Hockey Stadium, and Stadium Juara. Besides, the venues were also often used to hold concerts of international pop stars. Its location is so strategic that I thought it was very well planned and built.

Bukit Jalil station has the reputation of making an appearance in the Hollywood movie, Entrapment that was starred by Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta Jones. However, fame had to come with sacrifice as it had to take up a "stage" name by the name of Pudu.

Note: STAR line has been renamed as Ampang Line, and PUTRA line as Kelana Jaya line ever since it was managed by RapidKL in 2004.

1) PWTC Station
PWTC station is the only station that was built over a river, which is Sungai Gombak. It is an important station, more so when the UMNO delegates converged to the PWTC for their annual Perhimpunan Agung (General Assembly).
