It was walking and getting lost for us in Venice. This was because we moved according to instinct. We depended very much on the sign pasted at the wall; either directing us towards the "Ferrovia" (bus station), "Rialto" or "San Marco".
Piazza San Marco is a big square, with lots of people, and it is situated by the Grand Canal. Since we did not follow the queue to go into those buildings, we were just as happy snapping pictures of the Piazza and its surrounding. I made sure I took a photo with Italian flag as my background. At least, I can proudly claimed that I have been to Italy though I can't name the building correctly.
We can see there were many "platform benches" placed at the Piazza. They were meant to be transformed into walking path when the infamous Venice flood comes. It actually happened in end-November, just a month after we left. It was also the worst in 22 years, indicating that sea water level in Venice was rising rapidly.

We thought Ponte Rialto was the most scenic bridge in the whole of Venice city. One side looked better than the other. It is an unusual structure as there were many shops inside the bridge. From this bridge, you can get a good view of the canal with "props" such as the gondolas and traghettos.

Overall, we gave Venice a 5/10 marks only. The beautiful spots were Piazza San Marco and Ponte Rialto, and the best things we discovered were the pizza near our hostel, the gelato (ice-cream) off the main roads and the tiramisu.
The mushroom-ham-cheese pizza cost E5.50/pc and can feed both of us. The size was roughly 15 inches diameter and thickness of crust was only 4mm. But the toppings were wonderful. Definitely beats our Pizza Hut and Shakey's. The gelare was only E1/pc at most area and E1.50/pc at some hot areas. The tiramisu was sold by weight and our piece cost E2.20. Their coffee was cheaper than Paris and Barcelona.
