Today's 1Joke : 2 November 2009

Saw this inspiring news from Malaysian Insider on government's way in boosting income of civil servants. The reason I say inspiring is because it is time they use performance as the benchmark, and we know who should be on the forefront of the list. I am glad and happy with the news because my other half is a civil servant, and she can perform beyond expectation.

On the other hand, it doesn't seem practical and I just treat it as a way our Mr N propagates his "1Malaysia" tag with no clear direction. Does his slogan "Rakyat Didahulukan, Pencapaian Diutamakan" really works in this approach, where we have long known that kulitfication is much more significant than qualification in the public sector?

Maybe he should use the Multi-level marketing (MLM) way of rewarding top performers by using clearly shown sales figures, rather than doing the selection behind closed door by the selected few or rewarding the highest to the oldest. This is what we call "Pencapaian Diutamakan". Anyway, I doubt this plan will materialize..
